Gambe

With Gambe, Bruno Catalano renews his thoughts on tearing and disappearance and accentuates his process by focusing solely on the lower limb of the body. The pair of legs of this anonymous traveler rests on a base and seems to be at rest.
Standing upright, facing the passing of time, the work appears in suspense, taken at a moment before or after the walk. The feeling of emptiness invites the viewer to recompose the image and imagine the twists and turns of the journey. A detail then emerges, this hand which is placed in the pocket, as a sign of a peaceful wait towards somewhere else and an always new future.
